There, travelers who journey down its silent terrain are confronted by a fog of the untold, a fog that fills the mind of man with tales, myths, and legends of horrors and nightmare creatures. Yet, as civilization bloomed and the superstitions of a primitive past drowned under a sea of logic and reason, there walked horrors who came not from imagination or myth—but reality. One such horror is the vampire; an elegant nightwalker thought to emerge when the land is darkened by night. Legends tell of beautiful monsters who seduce wives, drink their blood, and throttle their husbands in their sleep. Alas, humanity was fed little more than tales too tall for the mortal mind to overcome. The First Four—thought by some to be the First Five—are enthroned as the world’s most powerful vampire families. They sit at the helm of the world, having controlled global superpowers such as France, England, Russia, Japan, and allegedly, China, for centuries. Together, they misdirected the focus of humanity, feeding their feeble minds tales of vampires who cower under sunlight, shrivel when licked by flames, and flee from garlic.
