Harmony in the magical land of Equestria breathes its final breath, as Equestria's surface is torn asunder, its heart broken in two, and its lungs ensnared by the thorny vines of chaos and hatred... The year is 1008 A.B.; 1008 years after Luna's banishment, 6 years since Daybreaker arose as the twisted reimagining of Princess Celestia and brutal parody of her former self. She has also forced Equestria through a similar metamorphosis, as since her transformation she has replaced the formerly secular bureaucracy with a militarized religious establishment, largely of formerly disenfranchised ponies that have been elevated by her reign, and as a result are utterly fanatical in enforcing her will, and reshaping Equestria to fight the war. A war that has no end in sight, as renewed imperial offensives with cutting-edge killing machines begin to shake the Lunar Empire, which itself is falling under the weight of the war as banners of all colors fly in Fillydelphi. Many call for revolution, or independence. To the opposite end of the continent, far west, the City of Vanhoover has fallen into the grasp of forces beyond this world as the Mad God Discord has begun to run amok.
