All you can recall is a simple silhouette, and that strange number that refuses to leave your mind. A presence without a name — a shadow stitched into the back of your skull. It clings to you like a patient parasite, silent and watching. Patting your pockets, you find a single folded piece of paper. It shouldn’t be there, yet it feels as though it always has been. The paper is unnaturally cold, its edges frayed as if passed through countless hands. As you unfold it, the letters surface slowly, then the whole message : . . . "… You lost everything you owned, so you threw yourself into hell? You always had a choice, and the fate you chose is worse than death. Out there in the dark lies the faintest crack where light bleeds through, and when you find it… may the pearly gates open to your freedom — a freedom of dust and desolation.... but, isn’t the ‘freedom’ you seek only shaped by your suffering ? We may cross paths again. Pray you are prepared. May Kepershi have mercy on your soul. Rest now, child of man. Year 128 ― From 941512.9 to Subject ██████." . . . You remember nothing else, no matter how hard you try. The only proof of what happened is yourself… and that cursed note. Your mind claws at the edges of memory, desperate to catch meaning, but every attempt leaves you emptier — as if something is pulling the strings of your thoughts. A feeling gnaws at you: parts are missing, hidden between the lines, the blank spaces, the silence. A warning left unsaid. The paper hums with intent, a threat beneath its stillness. … You are left without foundation. … Clueless. … Oblivious. And you know this : the only way forward is a step, even blind. Ignorance is your best asset.
