The Eastern Cross is an Orthodox Christian community built from the ground up for genuine discussion, fellowship, and the study of Holy Scripture within the boundaries of the Orthodox Faith. Co-founded on the pillars of brotherhood and authentic tradition, our community is a dedicated safe space for baptized Eastern Orthodox Christians, catechumens, and serious, genuine inquirers. ⚠️ ENTRY RULES & VERIFICATION: To protect our members, we enforce strict verification. This server is explicitly limited to Eastern Orthodox Christians, catechumens, and sincere inquirers (such as those looking to leave Roman Catholicism or Protestantism to embrace Orthodoxy). We do NOT allow people of other faiths to join to hang out or debate. There must be a genuine desire for the Truth. Instigators and trolls will not pass verification. OUR CORE FOUNDATIONS: 1. Authentic adherence to Orthodox doctrine and tradition. 2. Discussions guided by the Church Fathers and ecclesial teaching. 3. Active conversation without too much social moderation (just don't turn talking into a bloodsport and remember your audience). 4. Complete prohibition of promoting anti-Christian or blasphemous ideologies. 5. Low tolerance for the active promotion of heterodox or secular beliefs. Moderation is carried out by members involved directly in Church life—including altar servers, lectors, and sub-deacons—ensuring discourse remains grounded in the spirit of the Church. This doesn't mean we can't argue (we can't help ourselves, can we?), but we expect sound reasoning instead of Ad Hominem or Strawmanning. Our goal is the preservation and sharing of the Orthodox Faith in unity with the Church. Join us to begin verification.
